Quality construction begins with strong leadership, which is why Hickory is always eager to recognize excellence in leadership inside our organization and within our community. As a graduate of Leadership Knoxville’s class of 2018, Hickory Construction President Ben Pinnell embodies these values.
Leadership Knoxville lays a foundation of leadership principles throughout its 10-month curriculum, growing strong leaders across the city. The program connects participants, challenging them to build a stronger community through leadership programs, community workshops, and events designed to inspire people at all levels of leadership development. Pinnell was accepted as one of the program’s 50 participants out of a pool of hundreds of applicants.
During Pinnell’s 13 years at Hickory, he has led numerous successful projects. His philanthropic projects have included overseeing Hickory’s involvement in Knoxville’s 2012 Extreme Makeover Home Edition, volunteering for the YWCA of Knoxville, and helping boost the Blount Partnership member-affiliation campaign. Pinnell serves on the board of directors of several organizations including the Children’s Center of Knoxville, the Boy Scouts of America Smoky Mountain Council and the Tennessee Board of Education Advisory Council for Architecture & Construction. Additionally, Pinnell was a Knoxville Business Journal 40 Under 40 recipient in 2012 and was named YWCA CO-Volunteer of the Year in 2016.
We’re honored to support Leadership Knoxville’s mission and congratulate Ben on his achievement.
