Antique timbers were used for the framework of this log-home estate, comprised of five cabins in the foothills of the Smokies. Designed by Atlanta architect Jack Davis, the main house features a unique blend of components, combining materials like chinking, shingles, stone and tin with modern energy-efficient appliances and an exterior envelope to chase away blustery mountain winters. Other cabin structures on the property include a guest cottage and a writer’s cottage.
