Building a Home for Tennesseans with Special Needs
(Alcoa, TN) - Hickory Construction, Incorporated has broken ground on the first of five state-of-the-art community homes for the Tennessee Division for Mental Retardation Services. The four-bedroom homes being developed near Greeneville, Tennessee, will provide safe housing for special needs residents who require 24-hour supervision in addition to medical and nursing support.
The 4,000 square foot stone and brick community homes are designed to fit seamlessly into residential neighborhoods. The interior features are designed for the comfort and care of the residents who require skilled care.
Twelve of the specialized homes are being constructed across the state of Tennessee. two are now open and operating in Shelby County in west Tennessee. Ultimately, these community homes will replace the Arlington Development Center scheduled to close in 2010.
