In 2011, Hickory broke ground on a new training complex for the 241st Engineering & Installation Squadron of the Tennessee Air National Guard in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Upon completion, the project featured a 25,000-square-foot communications building for offices, training rooms and supply areas; a 6,900-square-foot vehicle-maintenance building with service bays, wash bay and storage areas; and a 3,000-square-foot covered area for vehicle parking.
Designed by Karengaye M. Johnson of Architect’s International and C2RL Incorporated Engineers, the complex earned a Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification by the U.S. Green Building Council.
