Anderson Hall, Maryville College

Historic Anderson Hall, perhaps the most recognized building on the campus of Maryville College, is standing as strong as ever today thanks to an overhaul by Hickory Construction in 2008. It marked the first major renovation for Anderson, which was completed in 1870, making it the oldest building on the campus of any liberal arts school.

Hickory’s involvement in phase one of the renovation project was focused primarily on the exterior of the building – strengthening the foundation, restoring the brick and mortar, replacing the roof and rebuilding Anderson Hall’s iconic tower. Hickory worked alongside architect Duane Grieve in carrying out the preservation effort.
